Following on from the article in the 20th July edition of Wyenot News, I thought visitors to this site might like to see slightly larger copies of two of the photographs I took of the Ross-on-Wye Steam Society's 40th Anniversary Road Run, which took place on Sunday 18th July 2004. Pictured below are David Pout and his son in Gloucester Road, driving their Burrell 7 horse power showman's engine, 'Nancy.' Also pictured is Colin Dix with his sons negotiating the Five Ways mini-roundabout in their McLaren Road Locomotive, 'Hogwart'. It was well worth the long wait for the engines to get up steam before beginning the run along Gloucester Road, High Street, Edde Cross Street, New Street, Broad Street, Brookend Street, Millpond Street, Cantilupe Road and finally back to the grounds of the Chase Hotel, where the engines were left on display for the afternoon.
