10th May 2012 ENJOYING AVES 30TH BIRTHDAY PARTY

Belated birthday greetings go to my friend, Ave Pennonen of the White Lion Inn at Wilton who recently celebrated her 30th birthday. Ave looked absolutely stunning in her party dress and lots of friends went along to the lovely riverside inn to help her to celebrate her special day. As well as many locals turning up to the party, where popular local DJ, Nigel Gaudion provided a brilliant disco, Ave's sister and brother came over from Estonia, making Ave's celebration extra special.

I am so pleased to have made it to your party, Ave. It was a lovely evening and I hope to meet up with you again one day very soon.

10th May 2012 MAYOR'S CHARITY BALL A GREAT SUCCESS

The Chase hotel was filled with people on Saturday, 24th March, to attend the annual Mayor's Charity Ball. Many Mayors from other towns attended and in all, around 130 people enjoyed a thoroughly good evening, whilst helping Ross Town Mayor, Councillor David Ravenscroft to raise funds for his chosen charity, SSAFA, who support anybody who has served in any of the armed forces in a variety of ways.

After a delicious dinner, a draw was held with many great prizes which were donated by local businesses. Local band SILVA provided a great evening's entertainment and a wonderful evening was enjoyed by all.

Special birthday greetings go to friend and ex neighbour Jeanette Compton who recently celebrated her 50th birthday with family and friends at a great party which took place at The Plough Inn, Overross.

There were so many people at the party to help 'Netty celebrate. There was an abundance of fantastic food and some great live entertainment was provided by popular local trio, The Double Barrel Band who kept everybody on their feet, dancing the night away.

It was an amazing party Jeanette. I hope you didn't suffer too much the morning after.

10th May 2012 KARAOKE AND NEW JERSEY AT THE HOPE & ANCHOR

The last Friday of each month is Karaoke Night at the Hope & Anchor and everybody who attends has a really fun night out, myself included. On the last Friday in March, I ventured down to the pub to join in the monthly fun to find that the brilliant duo, New Jersey were performing their great range of covers music. New Jersey have become very popular locally.

Apart from their 'Through the decades' covers the duo also have a dedicated 80's set, 'Totally 80s' and they are well worth going to see.

Hope regular, Mark takes the mic.

Everybody has a great time at the Hope Karaoke night.
