ROADies held yet another successful road run recently and
together with their last event have raised £1,000
for the Midlands Air Ambulance. This will be presented to
the charity at a date yet to be determined. Colin Davies
Tyrecare, founder member of Ross ROADIES sent in the
following report to Wyenot News, which I am very pleased
to publish. I joined the group on their previous run through
the countryside and it was a lovely experience.
ROADies' 4th Classic and Vintage Vehicle Road Run, held
on Bank Holiday Tuesday, 27th December 2011 was a real 'cracker'
of a day, with over thirty vehicles taking part. [The group]
enjoyed some stunning views throughout their leisurely drive
of the Herefordshire countryside, before returning to the
Yew Tree Inn, Peterstow for some welcoming hot soup and
another successful raffle with generously donated prizes,
to help us to raise some more much needed funds for Midlands
Air Ambulance, which, when added to our running total from
our August Bank Holiday road run, we are pleased to announce
that a second donation of £1,000 has now been made
possible. The presentation will be taking place at the Yew
Tree Inn as soon as arrangements can be made in early 2012.
have also decided that for 2012, our 'Preferred Charity'
will again be the Midlands Air Ambulance, with Classic and
Vintage Vehicle Road Runs being planned for the following
dates: Easter Monday, 9th April, Bank Holiday Monday, 27th
August and another run in December, the date of which is
yet to be confirmed.
would like to extend our grateful thanks to all of our many
supporters, the many businesses which allowed us to display
our posters and especially Phil and Lin Ballinger at the
Yew Tree Inn, Peterstow for allowing us the sue of their
