4th January 2012 A GREAT CHRISTMAS DAY LUNCH AT THE RYEFIELD CENTRE

Every Christmas, Ross Lions Club, in conjunction with other local organizations arrange for the elderly and those who would otherwise spend Christmas Day alone to enjoy a lovely Christmas Lunch at the Ryefield Centre. Transport is laid on for those who cannot get there under their own steam and for those too ill to attend the centre, a Christmas Lunch is taken to them.

When I arrived at the centre on Christmas Day, the lovely aroma from the kitchen was making me feel very hungry indeed and I began to look forward to my own lunch with my sons. It was lovely to see so many people at the centre. Most seemed to be enjoying a pre-lunch glass of wine whilst being entertained by members of the New Life Church, who always give a lovely short concert of carols on the day.

It is wonderful to see that thanks to the likes of Ross Lions' Club, the elderly people of Ross-on-Wye do not get forgotten.

The Lions' guests await their delicious lunch at the Ryefield Centre. . . .

. . . . many of them enjoying a glass of wine while they waited.
