Christmas, Ross Lions Club, in conjunction with other local
organizations arrange for the elderly and those who would
otherwise spend Christmas Day alone
to enjoy a lovely Christmas Lunch at the Ryefield Centre.
Transport is laid on for those who cannot get there under
their own steam and for those too ill to attend the centre,
a Christmas Lunch is taken to them.
I arrived at the centre on Christmas Day, the lovely aroma
from the kitchen was making me feel very hungry indeed and
I began to look forward to my own lunch with my sons. It
was lovely to see so many people at the centre. Most seemed
to be enjoying a pre-lunch glass of wine whilst being entertained
by members of the New Life Church, who always give a lovely
short concert of carols on the day.
is wonderful to see that thanks to the likes of Ross Lions'
Club, the elderly people of Ross-on-Wye do not get forgotten.
