4th January 2012 DOUG AND SALLY TAKE h.ART TO THE BRIDGE

h.Art week is always a fascinating week when artists and crafts people display their works in various venues around the county, creating an artistic trail for locals and visitors to enjoy. I was invited to the Bridge at Wilton on Sunday, 18th September where popular local artists, Doug Eaton, his partner, Sally Sarneski and friend Sally Stafford had been exhibiting their work.

It goes without saying that I know nothing about art in itself but I know when I do like something and the walls of the lovely restaurant with rooms were adorned with a whole range of beautiful art work in differing styles and using various media. There were several pieces that I would love to be able to hang on my walls at home.

The atmosphere at The Bridge was relaxed and guests wandered about, appreciating the artistic feast laid on for them whilst enjoying some delicious canapés by Chef, Michael and great live music which was performed by Laurence Hughes and Dave Oakley. Apparently the artists' week at The Bridge had been a great success, with a number of works being sold.

I have long been a fan of Doug Eaton's work and in 2005, Alan and I featured Doug in our 'Local People' series. unfortunately, the information on that particular page is now out dated but if you would like to find out more about Doug and his work, why not visit his web site at www.dougeaton.co.uk.

Thank you for inviting me along to your great exhibition all. I had a lovely time and am pleased that your h.art week at The Bridge was such a success.

Doug's lovely painting of Ross Market.

Artistic herself, Caz Holbrook really enjoyed the exhibition.

This is such a beautiful scene.

Laurence Hughes and Dave Oakley provided some great live music.
