are appealing for witnesses after a woman in her 20s was
killed in a road traffic collision yesterday, 30th September
at the Trumpet Crossroads.
around 10.05pm, the blue Renault Clio she was driving along
the A438 towards Hereford left the road and hit a tree just
before the Trumpet Crossroads of the A438 and A417, west
of Ledbury. The emergency services attended but the female
driver was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. There
were no other occupants in the car.
driver has now been formally identified by her next of kin
and the coroner has been informed. She has been named as
Emma Louise Young, aged 23, of Hereford.
crossroads were closed for six hours while collision investigators
worked at the scene and the vehicle was recovered.
Steve Hastie, who is investigating the incident, said: 'We
need to find out why Emma's car left the road resulting
in her death. If anyone saw this crash or Emma's blue Renault
Clio on the A438 in the moments leading up to it, I would
urge them to contact me and tell me what they know.'
