Visitors from Betzdorf

This coming Friday will see the arrival of the visiting party from Ross-on-Wye's German twin town, Betzdorf. On their last visit, Marc Rosenkranz, whose role in Betzdorf is similar to my own in Ross stayed with Tina and I and I am pleased to say that he will be doing the same during the coming visit.

I shall be covering the visit of the party in next week's 'Wyenot News' and Marc will no doubt be accompanying me over the weekend to some photographic events and almost certainly to the pub at some stage.

Marc. I know you will see this before you leave. Our lack of communication over recent weeks has just been a time thing - you know how it is with news stuff. We are looking forward to your visit very much! Tina has swapped her Sunday shift at work for Saturday so that we can all spend all day on Sunday (being the no officially arranged trips planned day) together.

We look forward to welcoming you and the rest of the Betzdorf party to Ross-on-Wye!

A Ceilidh at Broome Farm

A brilliant ceilidh was held at Broome Farm, Peterstow on Saturday evening and Tina and I went along to photograph the event. The music was provided by excellent ceilidh band 'Wifeldy' who not only called the dances, but gave some very entertaining tuition to those wanting to take part.

Tina took part in two of the dances and I had difficulty in dragging her away to the party we had been invited to. We have attended a few events at Broome Farm and, as ever, there was some delicious, home cooked food available and a raffle was held to raise money for the Koloko Trust.

Events at Broome Farm are always most enjoyable and details of future events may be found on the 'What's On' page of Wyenot.com.
