John Kyrle High School will be celebrating its twenty fifth birthday this year and, to mark the occasion, there will be a 'Silver Jubilee Ball' at the school on Saturday, June 11th
. In addition to a three course meal, there will be dancing to live music from the excellent band, 'Joint Venture.' There will also be a disco and licensed bar. It is hoped to bring together, present and past staff, ex-pupils, (1980 to 2005) parents, governors and all friends of the school.

Over the coming weeks, I shall be publishing photographs here, in the 'Archive Ross' section of Wyenot News. If you recognize yourself in one of these photographs (or even if you do not) and would like to attend the function, which promises to be a great evening of entertainment, tickets are available from Kate Nicholls at the school.

This week's photograph shows Tutor Group 4.L of 1986.

For further information on this event, you are welcome to contact the following:

The Day of Rest . . .

This has been one busy week! I have been to lunch with Anna Tribe - Admiral Lord Nelson's oldest descendant, visited the Nelson Museum in Monmouth, spending an hour in a traffic jam just to get just one photo, spent a day at Weston's Cider in Much Marcle to photograph the Company's 125th Anniversary, two evenings at John Kyrle High School to photograph the local Parliamentary candidates and a concert by Gloucester Police Choir, an hour at Ashfield Park Primary School to photograph the new Head Teacher and a museum visit and visited Goodrich Castle over a period of two days to photograph dancing and battle scenes. All this is on top of writing articles, updating the web site and acting as family chauffeur. To say that I feel knackered at the moment is something of an understatement but it has definitely all been worth while!

I posted the Ross Gazette photos through the door at eight o'clock this morning and at the time of writing this, I estimate another twelve hours ahead of me will be taken up preparing this week's issue of Wyenot News. I hope you enjoy the issue - a lot of work has gone into it and tomorrow, Tuesday: Tuesday is the day of rest and I intend to get up late, generally slob around and watch the frogs in my garden pond. (I bet I get nagged into mowing the lawn though!)
