Everything Must Go! for a Forest Green Family!

ITV1's popular programme 'Everything Must Go!' is coming to Forest Green, Ross-on-Wye, to help a family move to Gloucester. Forty-three year old Wee Kheng Marfell moved from Singapore to England 18 years ago, after meeting her husband who was holidaying in South East Asia.

A far cry from her home-roots, Wee Kheng, a web site designer, has spent the last 18 years living in the heart of the Herefordshire countryside, in a spacious house in Forest Green with her husband, Bruce and two daughters, Jessica and Lisa aged 16 and 12 years respectively. With her daughters hitting the age of wanting to be out and about however, the Marfell family have decided that it's time to leave the countryside and opt for a more urban setting.

'It will be strange moving", said Wee Kheng, "Since coming to England I've always lived in this village, in this house. I have a lot of memories from living here for so long, especially as I had my two daughters here too. It is because of the girls we are moving really… my youngest is about to start at the same school in Gloucester as my eldest, and they are now at that age where they want to meet their friend's in the shops on a Saturday afternoon. Before I know it, it'll be nights out too, so we have decided it would be easier for all of us just to move closer to the town.'

The Marfell's are moving to a smaller property in October, and because they are down sizing, need to part with lots of belongings. 'We have many lovely items but are unable to take everything with us,' says wee Kheng, 'and the move is so close now I needed a quick and fun way to sell our possessions. I contacted the TV show, "Everything Must Go!", and luckily the programme was happy to give us a helping hand, as we really need it!'

The programme makers of ITV1's house clearance show jumped at the chance of helping the Herefordshire family and are appealing to everyone in and around the Forest Green, Walford and Ross-on-Wye areas, to support the family in their move. 'It's easy to show your support,' says Associate Producer Hannah Cartledge. 'All you have to do is turn up at their house sale in Forest Green and walk away with an "Everything Must Go!" shopping bag - there is always something for somebody at our sales and no-one ever leaves empty handed!'

The Marfell's want to raise at least £1,500 to help them with their move and are hoping that as many people as possible will turn up at their sale, which with the ITV crew there, promises to be a sale with a difference! The sale is going to be held at their home in Forest Green on Thursday 16th September 2004 and doors open at 3.30pm.

To get there from Ross-on-Wye take the Walford Road for approximately two miles; take the first left, sign posted Bull's Hill; go straight up the hill and the house will be sign posted from the second bus shelter on the right.

Car parking is limited and a free shuttle service, 'The EMG Express' will be running from Cantilupe Road, Bus stop No.4 to the sale from 3:00 pm. Information on the items Wee Kheng and her family have on offer can be obtained by telephoning Jo, on 0121 248 3914.
