VIEWS FROM HEREFORD CATHEDRAL TOWER
1

The City of Hereford lies fourteen miles north west of Ross-on-Wye, 23 miles north-west of the City of Gloucester and is the county town for Herefordshire.

Hereford's Cathedral dates from 1079 and is the home of a chained Library, the Diocesan Treasury and the 'Mappa Mundi,' which is the oldest surviving map of the world, drawn on a piece of Vellum in about AD 1290 by Richard de Haldingham.

The tower at Hereford Cathedral is not open every day, so if you see the sign that it is and if you don't mind heights, it is worth grabbing the chance to climb the steps whilst you can..
